Building Deep

What does it truly mean to build a life of faith that can withstand the storms? This message takes us deep into the parable of the wise and foolish builders in Matthew 7:24-27, and challenges us to examine what our spiritual foundation is actually made of. The central insight is both simple and sobering: prayer is not decoration on the house of our faith. It is the foundation itself. Just as skyscrapers require footings that go stories deep into the earth before a single floor rises above ground, the height God wants to take us to in our lives and in our communities demands a depth of prayer life that most of us have not yet pursued. We are reminded that both builders in the parable faced the same storm. The difference was never the storm itself but the quality of what was built before the storm arrived. This is an invitation to stop treating prayer like a spare tire we reach for in emergencies and start treating it like the steering wheel that guides everything we do.
